A bullock cart meandering down the road

A scene like this always brings great joy to me. The bullock cart used by a local farmer fits so perfectly into the relaxed ambience of South Goa. - It is not all about speed and rushing from place to place!
Below are two snaps of older "Portuguese" style houses across the street from the house. They are typical for these parts: long porches to sit and watch the world go by, while providing shade to the interior. Window frames are usually shaped in the most playful designs, often with filigre-like carvings decorating the arches. Gingerbread in a tropical setting! The houses are painted in the most vibrant tones. White used to be reserved for churches only and is just slowly gaining ground in private residences.
The small chapel is Patrocino Chapel of Benaulim. It is no more than 200 meters from the house and a landmark to help find it.
